I am so excited for August. Seriously, people.
First off, next week at Beauty Bar, my collaboration project with Jyldo will premiere as part of Salonathon (thanks, Jane Beachy!):
On Monday, August 15, Jyldo and DJ BoyWonder are proud to introduce Jammin’ on the One, an interactive dance party that combines your favorite hip hop / R&B jams with… square dancing. Put a little Dougie in your do-si-do! No experience required, participants will be guided through the dances by a caller. Dancing begins at 9:00 PM.
*Enjoy a HOSTED BAR from 8:00 – 9:00 PM.

…… and then on Saturday, August 20th, DJ BoyWonder will be hosting KARAOKE at Cafe Charm from 9 pm to 2 am. If all goes well, I will become the resident KJ every Saturday night, possibly expanding to more. I’m so excited for this new gig, and if you’ve ever enjoyed a night at Sidekicks with me, it will be even better this go round – less waiting between songs! Cafe Charm is a cute little bar in the Mayfair neighborhood (4630 W. Lawrence Ave), but don’t worry, the Lawrence bus runs all night. There’s $2 shots, $5 martinis, $6 pizzas, and $0.75 wings. AND a pool table, in case you want to play while I serenade you. If you’re nervous to sing alone, I will happily duet with you on most any song I know. I’d love to flood the place on the 20th, but I’ll be there the next Saturday (August 27), too. If you come both Saturdays, I’ll buy you a drink!
